A selection of our customers talk about our customer service. Meridian provides electricity for customers from households, to businesses of every type, to some of New Zealand's largest corporations and institutions. At 30 June 2007 we supplied electricity to approximately:
We are working hard to give each of those customers a new experience of electricity. During the year we established a new Retail Directorate to give us the focus and resources we need to achieve that goal. Customer satisfaction Meridian continues to set high standards for our teams to perform to. We achieved all of our absolute targets relating to the percentage of customers rating Meridian's overall service as ‘excellent' or ‘very good'. We also achieved performance above the electricity market average in every market segment. Our customer satisfaction ratings for the 2006/07 year are shown below:
The graph shows the percentage of customers who rate Meridian performance as "excellent", "very good" or "good" on a five-point scale that also includes "fair" and "poor" for the period April to June 2007. It is interesting to note that in the April – June quarter (after the announcement that our electricity had been certified as carbon neutral), our company performance ratings were significantly higher than the electricity market average in all sectors. |
Delivering Value
Our customers are at the core of our business. We work hard to meet

customer contacts each day, they play an essential role in helping our
customers get the best value from their electricity spend.
